A superb and highly sought-after antique Old Noritake Figural Luster Bowl (Candy Dish/Ashtray). This piece showcases the brilliant artistry of the Art Deco period (c. 1920s).
Feature: The main attraction is the highly detailed, dimensional porcelain bird figurine perched on the fluted edge of the dish. The bird features bright blue and black enameling.
Design: The bowl itself is finished in a rich, iridescent orange luster glaze and is hand-painted with bold, geometric floral and leaf motifs in shades of orange and muted blue, typical of Art Deco designs.
Mark: The bottom features the recognized Green "M Mark" (Maruki Mark), dating the item to the desirable export period between c. 1914 and 1940s.
Usage: Ideal for use as a trinket dish, vanity piece, or simply a stunning piece of decorative art for display.
Condition: In wonderful antique condition. The porcelain bird and the bowl show no major chips, cracks, or restorations. The luster finish remains glossy and vibrant. Minor wear consistent with age is to be expected for a piece over 80 years old.
