血沸き肉踊る! ブラス・ロック名盤！ 1967年、アル・クーパー(VO, KEY)を中心にNYで結成。バンド名はジョニー・キャッシュの曲に由来する。1968年のデビュー作は、ブラス・ロックを誕生させた名作と言われている。その後アル・クーパー、ランディ・ブレッカー(TP)らが脱退するも、後任に個性派ヴォーカリスト、デヴィッド・クレイトン・トーマスを迎え、2NDアルバム『BS&T』を発表。グラミー賞を受賞するなど大成功を収めた。1971年には初来日し、武道館でコンサートを行った。 本作は、ザ・バンドを手がけていたジョン・サイモンがプロデュースしたデビュー作。アル・クーパーの幅広い音楽的趣向を反映した、実験的でバラエティに富んだ内容になっている。2「アイ・ラヴ・ユー・モア・ザン・ユール・エヴァー・ノウ」は、ブラス・サウンドの厚みを巧みに生かしたアレンジで、アル・クーパー時代のBS&Tの魅力をよく伝えている。[1968年作品]

アル・クーパーがブルース・プロジェクト脱退後に結成したブラス・ロック・バンドのデビュー作（1968年作品）。ジョン・サイモンのプロデュースにより、70年代ロックに大きな影響を与えた名盤。BS&Tは、'67年11月、アル・クーパーを中心に結成されたブラス・ロック・グループ。'68年、デビュー・アルバム『子供は人類の父である』を発表。これはさまざまな音楽のイディオムを見事にクロス・オーヴァーさせた「ニュー・ロック」のモニュメント的名盤で、今聴いてもその新鮮さは色あせていない。アル・クーパーの才能を再確認。その後アルは脱退し、新メンバーを加入させたBS&Tは、'69年、『血と汗と涙』を発表。ブラス・ロックのスタイルを確立し、3曲の大ヒット・ナンバーを生んだ名盤である。
