A striking debut album of Japanese classical shoegaze black metal, presenting an elegant worldview by pairing tremolo/arpeggiated guitars with string tones, incorporating elements of classical music and chanson, and in some tracks using chord progressions known as “fourth progressions.”
An unconventional work that blends a gentle, classical atmosphere with death vocals. It’s a bit like putting salted squid on top of pudding—odd, but amusing. Surprisingly, it goes down easily. Bright, major-key songs are layered so that death vocals seem to echo from a distance.
