The only album from 1977 by Maad, a four-piece group composed of Italians and Americans formed in Milan. The member includes David Searcy, who would later create great piece with Moon On The Water and bassist Attilio Zanchi, widely active in the jazz world. The 5 tracks showcase a complex development that weaves a tapestry, incorporating elements of Italian experimentation, African rhythms, and Mediterranean influence. Includeing supremely groovy “African Norge” shifts abruptly from dense funk to a dope vibe, "Giugno '75" is a mass of groove with African and Latin influences and a relentless, dense performance, “Zabaz” delivers exquisite jazz rock with incredibly tight, cool performances. This is a 1998 reissue CD version. The original is extremely rare.
ミラノで結成されたイタリア人とアメリカ人による構成の4人組グループMaadによる77年の唯一作にして超傑作。メンバーには後にMoon On The Waterで傑作を残すDavid Searcyやジャズ界で広く活躍するベーシストAttilio Zanchiが含まれています。イタリアらしい実験要素、アフリカのリズム、凡地中海などの要素を取り込みタペストリーを編むように複雑な展開を見せつける全5曲。濃密ファンキーから一転ドープへ舵を切っていくグルーヴィー極まりない”African Norge”、アフリカやラテンを感じさせながら濃密な演奏が絶え間なく続くグルーヴの塊のような”Giugno '75”、シングルカットされたタイトな演奏がかっこよすぎる極上のジャズロックを聞かせる”Zabaz”。98年のリイシューCD版。オリジナルは非常にレア。
